... I certainly appreciate Dr. Dansi's skill and expertise, but when she say that online teaching will be the educational mode of the future, I surely hope she is wrong. I have been a K-12 teacher for 25 years and my husband is a professor of biology at a major university, and we both know that education is about communication between student and teacher, eye to eye, face to face, mind to mind. This is not to say that information can't be passed around the internet and things "learned" , but it is not education. And most people do it for the money, not for the joy of interacting with students and other teachers in an educational setting. |
